Every Watch Patek Philippe Has Discontinued in 2024

Patek Phillipe Discontinued 2024

It’s always around this time of year that we discover which timepieces Patek Philippe has removed from its catalogue to make room for their upcoming launches – likely to be announced in April to coincide with Watches & Wonders. The most controversial discontinuation in modern Patek’s history came in 2021 with the sunsetting of the 5711 and for 2024 there are yet more Nautili on the chopping block along with a few significant references. Worth noting that this fleet of discontinuations also coincide with a 7% price rise.

Patek Philippe World Time 5230P-001

Patek Phillipe World Time 5230P-001

The World Time is one of Patek Philippe’s signature complications and while there are plenty of references still in the collection, it’s sad to see the Ref. 5230P-001 go. With its blue dial and platinum case, it’s one of the most classical and elegant examples of the World Timer, leaving behind a selection of high jewellery models as well as the salmon and green. Hopefully a blue edition will return in future.

Another surprising departure is the Aquanaut Travel-Time 5164A-001, considering that the Aquanaut is one of the most popular Patek watches – arguably their entry level timepiece if such a term even applies to Patek. The Travel Time is also one of the coolest complications in the range, offering a unique take on the standard GMT.

Patek Philippe Nautilus Chronograph 5980

Kicking things off, the Patek Philippe Nautilus Chronograph 5980 and all its sub-references have been discontinued. Specifically, that’s the 1R-001 rose gold edition with black dial, 1AR-001 bi-metal with blue dial and R-001 rose gold with brown leather strap and brown fumé dial. With the removal of this model, there are now very few chronographs left in the Nautilus range.

Patek Philippe Annual Calendar 5396R-015, 5396G-011

Prior to this latest suite of discontinued Patek Philippes there were two Ref. 5396 Annual Calendars but now there is only one. Receiving its marching orders is the 5396R-015, the blue dial option with day, date, month and moonphase complications. As well as the white dial in white gold ref. 5396G-011. Leaving only the white dial in rose gold case edition.

Patek Philippe Grand Complication Perpetual Calendar 5160G-001

There are so many Patek Philippe Grand Complication Perpetual Calendars that reading the reference alone is rarely enough to know which one you’re talking about unless you’re a Patek anorak. So seeing one be discontinued isn’t likely to summon too many tears. Although the does have the distinction of being one of the rarest modern Patek Philippes with its intricately engraved case – now it’s even rarer.

Patek Philippe Nautilus 5712 (leather straps only)

Unlike the 5980, some references of the 5712 moonphase are remaining in the catalogue. The pair that are being discontinued are the R-001 and G-001, both of which are presented on leather straps. This leaves only the bracelet models left in the current range, which makes sense because the integrated bracelet is more in line with the Nautilus’ Genta heritage.

Patek Philippe Nautilus 7010R

The majority of the references of the Nautilus 7010R are heading off into the sunset, meaning the white and gold dial variants of this ladies’ watch have disappeared. Only the purple dial versions that were introduced last year have been preserved. It’s not too much of a loss since the 7118 is virtually identical except that the date window is in a different position.

Patek Philippe Aquanaut Luce 5062, 5269 & 5268

From the ladies’ collection of Aquanauts, known as the Aquanaut Luce, there are a trio of watches being discontinued. The 5062 is a fully iced out haute jewellery edition while the 5269 and 5268 are both rose gold editions with white dials and diamond bezels with and without a date window respectively.
